We are officially 6 months into 2021, and for those who work in the school system, at the end of a crazy challenging school year!  CONGRATULATIONS!! YOU MADE IT!  Whether you work in the schools or not, recognize the need to take some time off this summer to recharge and create memories.  Life goes by fast, don't miss out on the moments to enjoy the good times!

June Challenge

I am guilty of it...working during breaks, not creating boundaries and constantly doing.  This month and all summer long I am challenging you (and myself) to create boundaries and take time do what fuels you.  If these last 15 months have taught us anything it's that nothing is certain and we should unapologetically take and create time for the things that are most important like family, your interests and creativity, personal health and wellness.

According to an ASHA COVID-19 survey taken in October 2020, 69.4% of ASHA members and affiliates who participated reported difficulty having the time or capacity to adequately balance personal and professional responsibilities during the pandemic.  Both time and capacity are relevant factors in doing our job and doing it well, while balancing life.  This is a reminder that we all have a very real need to take time away to recharge so that we have the capacity to do our daily work, both personal and professional.

I will be taking the summer off from the newsletter to recharge and focus on some personal  and professional building, and I hope you will do the same.
