Come one come all to the famous Tucker 4-H Halloween Carnival! Play pumpkin bowling, search for candy in a haystack, go fishing for candy, get your face painted and play all of the many other games at the carnival as well. The carnival will be held at the October general meeting in the large cafeteria of Gifford Elementary School on Monday, October 9th at 7:00pm. We encourage all youth to wear their Halloween costumes! We can not wait to see them all! We also ask that everyone bring a bag of candy to use as prizes for the carnival games. All extra candy will be donated to Safe Haven, an organization that helps at-risk youth in our community, so please feel free to bring extra candy to donate. We will also send out a list with other items that they need if you would like to donate those as well. We can not wait to see you and your costumes there! - Mary and Austin (October Meeting Co-Chairs)

Pancake Breakfast Re-Cap We want to thank all of our wonderful Tucker 4-H families for their help in pulling together for a fantastic Pancake Breakfast! Some fun final numbers were: 25 sheet cakes served, 80 pounds of applesauce, 17 pounds of butter, 800 syrups, 100 pounds of pancake mix, 15 gallons of apple cider, and 350-400 milks. That's what it took to feed almost 700 people! Even though the weather was a bit warm, the bees mostly stayed away from the syrup, and it meant we served a bit less coffee (which was good since our large coffee maker gave up that morning). The kids went above and beyond to do their jobs well, and we received many compliments from our guests who were impressed with their hard work and friendliness. Many thanks to the Swan family for hosting the space and we hope everyone was able to enjoy the farm a bit after all your hard work. We have a lot of ideas about how to improve this event in the future and if you have any suggestions, we'd love to hear them so please reach out. The kids really seemed to be having a good time every time we checked in at each station and we hope those fond memories stay with them in the future. |

An email was sent out regarding our upcoming junior leader activity. Please RSVP if you have not responded already. This will be a very fun activity, but in order to participate all junior leaders MUST be enrolled and approved with 4honline (which means enrollment dues must also be paid). Dues can be paid at the October meeting, so be sure to bring your payment and complete your online enrollment. We’d like as many of our junior leaders as possible to join us for this wonderful team-building experience! Apple Picking is scheduled for Saturday, October 7th at 2:00 pm with a rain date of October 8th. The address of the orchard is: 18000 93rd Street, Bristol, 53104 93rd Street is HWY C in Kenosha. Take 94 South to HWY C, one exit south of HWY 50. The orchard is located approximately 3.75 miles west of 94 on the north side of the road. If you get to Hwy D/184th Ave, you've gone too far.
A few reminders: *Please be aware that this is a private orchard and there is no public restroom on the property. *Remember that this is an event for junior leaders. Our hosts have asked that only our older members participate because of the care that needs to be taken in picking the apples. Parents are welcome and encouraged to stay.
