New Regional/County Contacts

 

Congratulations to the new student leaders in your region (or counties with no regional structure).  The regional president, 2nd vice president (middle school representative), and the student member on the Board of Education (SMOB, SROB, Commissioner) by virtue of their position are voting members of the MASC executive board. In order to stay informed, MASC needs contact information for these new leaders.

Maryland Youth Advisory Council

Applications close June 30

 

Maryland Youth Advisory Council (MYAC) gives Maryland youth the opportunity to provide feedback and recommendations regarding public policies and programs.

 

MASC is able to appoint two students to serve a two-year term. Two students appointed last year are serving their second year in 2023-2024.

 

Be sure to check "MASC" on how you heard about this in order to be considered for an appointment by MASC!

Just because the school year is over doesn’t mean community service is! Use this summer to help give back to your community, making it the best summer ever for you and those around you. You can partner with your school or regional student government, or go out on your own and make the most of the break by finding ways to put a smile on people’s faces. MASC Advance

August 1 & 2, 2023

 

Tuesday, August 1st, student leaders from all over Maryland join together for a full day of training to become certified workshop presenters. With an optional overnight (fun-fun-fun socializing), Wednesday, August 2nd is MASC's first executive board meeting for the 2023-2024 school year. Students register themselves for this event.

Leukemia & Lymphoma Society: Are you looking for a way to build on your leadership skills, network, and help your community all while supporting cancer patients? The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is looking for student leaders to participate in the "Student Visionaries of the Year" campaign. This 7-week philanthropic leadership program is a great way to give back and provide you with lifelong skills. Horatio Alger Association: (graduating seniors through age 30) Interested in pursuing an associate's degree or certificate program? $2,500 scholarships are awarded to students with financial needs who have faced and overcome great obstacles in their lives and wish to pursue a career or technical education at an accredited non-profit post-secondary institution in the United States. Applications close June 15th.
