The Tide in Texas Board wants to thank all our members for a memorable 2022. The chapter elected a new Board in April and worked hard to promote the University of Alabama and support our alumni.
A few of our highlights included:
Raising over $6000 during our annual fundraiser for the Ashley Harrison Memorial scholarship, remembering Ashley who lost her life in the 4/27/2011 Tuscaloosa tornado
Supporting our gymnastics team at Nationals
Bringing a ReadBAMARead Express to DFW
Welcoming UA Men’s basketball coach Nate Oats and UA President, Dr. Stuart Bell to our annual scholarship banquet
Endowing the chapter’s 7th scholarship, The Weiss-Willingham Endowed Scholarship
Welcoming George Teague to host an episode of his Teague’s Take video podcast before the BAMA-Austin Peay game
Hosting a Young Alumni “Welcome to the City” & Wine Wednesday
Holding our 5th annual Crimson Classic golf tournament benefiting the Lee Roy Jordan Scholarship
Supporting our student recruiters with the new student send-off and prospective student receptions
Providing over 3000 meals to hungry North Texans with our annual Beat Auburn Beat Hunger food drive
Cheering on the Tide at our four watch party locations
We look forward to your continued involvement in 2023. We plan to hit the ground running with our first events to include:
Young Alumni Happy Hour on January 13th
Trunk Show with the owner of The Shirt Shop, one of Tuscaloosa’s premier clothing stores, to preview our Tide in Texas polo’s, quarter zips, and sweatshirts on January 26 th
BAMA-OU basketball game in Norman OK on January 28th
