KESKUS ceremonial groundbreaking on Friday, April 8th was scheduled for "rain or shine" and both showed up! A joyous event celebrated by local Estonians, neighbourhood, dignitaries, with the Estonian flag raised high into the air. Estonian Arts Centre, the charity associated with KESKUS, invited two textile artists from Estonia to advance their practice and explore an installation for the new building, an installation that will reflect the Estonian diaspora and become an attraction in the city of Toronto. Donor categories are Kalevipoja laud for gifts of $100,000 and above (including naming rights for specific areas), Koidula gild for gifts $50,000 up to $100,000 Viru vanemad for gifts of $10,000 up to $50,000, and Kungla rahvas for gifts under $10,000. To make a donation, please email donations@estoniancentre.ca or call +1.647.250.7136. Donations may be made as a family gift, or in honour of an individual or family. Leadership gifts can be paid over time and all donations are issued a tax receipt, with country-specific receipts issued for Canada, U.S. and Estonia. |
