After accepting a construction bid from Tupelo-based Century Construction in late February, The Baker Daniel Company officially began excavation on the multi-million dollar Sound Crossings development on Thursday, April 21, 2022 in Muscle Shoals, Ala.
Phase One of the development, which will be ready for construction in 120 days, will include 30 single-family homes, ten townhomes, and four commercial buildings. Residential lots are predicted to become available to prospective buyers by September 2022, and commercial tenants are expected to be operational by Spring of 2023.
Set to be built in five phases, Sound Crossings will be the first community of its kind in The Shoals. Spanning 86 acres off Wilson Dam Road, upon its completion the development will feature 209 single-family homes, 65 townhomes, and up to 60 commercial storefronts, offering a unique shopping and dining experience to Shoals residents from the comfort of their backyards. Residential amenities will include lakefront properties, parks and common areas, and walkable access to restaurants and retailers.
Conveniently located on the southernmost side of the city, Sound Crossings will be accessible to not only those local to The Shoals, but also visitors from neighboring communities.
