After eight fulfilling years teaching high school studio art, I decided in June to make the leap to working full time as a painter, ceramic artist, and illustrator. I feel a deep sense of gratitude for my family and friends who have encouraged me to take this big step. As I turn my focus to my home studio and say “yes” to ideas and opportunities that have taken a back-seat for many years, I find myself feeling like a beginner again in some wonderful ways.
