AUGUST NEWSLETTER

Wow we are into August already!  Getting to the pointy end !!

REP UMPIRING

Tylor Winnett and Allan Harding - these two have been in the news lately bit lately!!  Their most recent achievements are that they were selected to umpire in the U14 and U/17 Girls Country Championships held in Airlie Beach on the weekend of 13-15 July.

Being selected for these types of events in their early years of umpiring is great in itself and from this carnival Tylor went on to get selected to umpire at the State Championships later in the year at the Sunshine coast.

Our RUMs are very pleased to announce that both Tylor and Allan have been selected to take part in the AFLQ Umpires Academy.  They join Ryan Powell and Kobi Parker who were selected earlier in the year.  We are sure they will shine.  This means that that AFLTUA now has 4 umpires going though this programme.    We are very proud of you guys, you are representing our little regional association well and you can only continue to improve and progress.  Congratulations !

Greetings all! Welcome to August!

First and foremost, I wanted to send out a huge thank you to all for your help with our inaugural Bunnings Sausage Sizzle held on a weekend that had a lot going on in Townsville. We successfully raised $650 for our association, which as pledged, has gone towards subsidising the costs of our training shirts and singlets. I am so pleased with how so many have stepped up and purchased one. Not only will we be walking billboards for the association, but we are promoting our sponsors.   The support of our sponsors has enabled AFLTUA to contribute when our rep umpires attend competitions in an official capacity.

In the past month we had another Cactus Jacks catch-up, which was well attended and just awesome for some of us to use our club ‘Legend’ vouchers.

Well that’s about all for now…. See you round the paddock 😁 KO

And remember, we as an umpire group are proudly supported by our association sponsors. Please if you or anyone you know are in need of a product or service that they supply. Keep them in mind and mention that your part of the AFLTUA. That way they know that we are getting their brand out there.
