We do outreaches. LOTS of outreaches.
First and foremost, we want to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone who gave, prayed and supported our team at the Extreme love LA outreach at Adultcon. We do many outreaches throughout the year and our goal is not just to reach people in the places we go, but also to raise up team leaders who gain confidence and learn team dynamics to take back to their cities and create ongoing outreaches there. We learn to love, work in unity, overcome fear and intimidation. Our teams are made up of ordinary people who are willing to boldly go into places to bring the Light where the church is not present.
There are always obsitcles and challenges on every outreach, but this team did amazing as we navigated through several different arenas. We were amazed at the low attendance at the Adultcon LA event. Our booth was placed at the back where the music was loud and there the strippers were dancing on tables for VIP members. This made it difficult to communicate with conference attendees when they stopped at our booth to "spin the wheel" and receive a wristband and a word for the future. After a few hours of loud techno music, your head starts to hurt, but I have to tell you that when the men came out of the VIP lounge and saw the wheel and the positive words on the wheel, they started almost "repenting" to us. I have done these events for many years and I've never seen this before.
When these men walked up to the booth, before we could even say a word to them, they began to tell us things like "I need to get right with God". We had no sign or language to indicate we had anything to do with God so it was clear that the Holy Spirit was convicting them of their lifestyles and choices and bringing them to a point of new direction. It was SOOOOOO COOL. We didn't have to do a thing. The team was so loving and nonjudgmental. There was a joy that surround each of us and kindness was key and as a result, that same kindness was leading people to a point of change.
We then took it to the streets: Santa Monica Pier, Venice Beach, and The Grove in Hollywood. Everyone wanted a wristband made up of different colors and different encouraging words on each of the bands. We would have them pick a color without reading the words and then place it on their wrist. When we read the words to them, God would give us other prophetic insight into their lives and most of the time they would cry and hug us.
You see, the world is STARVING for affirmation and encouragement. People don't have hope, direction and they lack true identity.
Our goal is to raise up as many teams as we can to go as many places as we can to bring the Light of God and give people hope, purpose and a reason to live. Once people find their true identity and destiny, they are transformed out of harmful lifestyles into a sure pathway that will settle their fear with peace so they can walk confidently into their future. Jesus is STILL the ANSWER.
