On the Gnome Road

July 2021 - Newsletter

Timbers and friends took a trip to the mountains of Northern Colorado last month and made time to visit the original Gnome Road. They hope to return when our first books arrive in 2022 to deliver a few copies to the kind librarians at the Red Feather Lakes Community Library who provided us with excellent directions.

If you haven't seen the GRP News tab on our website, be sure to check out the short interviews with our fabulous GRP authors being posted throughout the summer. We are also able to finally announce illustrator Annie Bakst will be joining with us to work on Susan Johnston Taylor's Colorful Creatures: Poems About Animals in Surprising Shades. A few more illustrator announcements will follow soon. And, in case you missed it on the Twitter feed, we are excited to share our upcoming participation in the SCBWI Dakotas 2021 Fall Conference this September.

What's Coming Up?

The submissions inbox has taken a much needed break (with the exception of Twitter pitch event manuscripts) while we prepared to reopen for the month of July to middle-grade and young adult manuscript submissions. We are excited to see the stories that come in! Please check the wish list and guidelines on the website before you submit.

If you are a subscriber to Children's Book Insider, you might also see us featured in an upcoming Editor Spotlight with author Lynne Marie. Make sure to check it out! Many thanks to Lynne Marie and CBI for inviting us to speak with them and their readers.

Finally, as an additional reminder, we are still closed to submissions at the Little Gnome imprint. The wish list has been updated, although it may be helpful to check back before the September window opens in the event there are more.
