Visit to Big Oak Ranch, AL |
I had the privilege of visiting Big Oak Ranch as part of their ministry, Planting Oaks. When Big Oak's Executive Director, Brodie Croyle asked for help years ago, he was accused of being a "competitor". That conversation inspired him to help other organizations across the country! It was awesome to get a behind the scenes look at an established organization of 40 years, who has helped over 2000 children. It was truly inspiring to see just what Light of Mine Ranch could become. Our partnership with BOR has been a huge blessing and the resources they have shared are helping us build a strong foundation. |

Looking for Land in all the Right Places |
We are still praying for the perfect property. We have been sending some feelers out to local developers and asking God for a land donation (It's all His anyway). Soon, we will have a site layout and a development proposal with home designs! The basic layout is on 80 Acres. |

Light of Mine Ranch Families Your donations are not only helping the general start up cost of LOMR, they are also helping 7 foster families with a total of 26 kiddos. Entertaining that many kids in the summer is a full-time job and these parents are killing it. |

This summer some of our children went to a restaurant for the first time, went on a boat, went fishing, went on an airplane, saw fireworks, went to an amusement park, and rode on a roller coster! |

A Message From Our Founder and Director "As God leads my family and I through this journey, I was recently reminded of something that has been stuck in my head since that day. Take a moment and consider, that right now, in South Dakota, and where you live, a child is being beaten and abused, told they are hated, neglected, left without food, and being raped day after day by a family member. That child is crying out to God, hoping it will all just stop! God, in His infinite power, has an infinite amount of ways to rescue this child, but when you step up, when you answer the call, God is using you to answer that child's prayer. Please join us as we build a place of hope and restoration for children who need Christ to rescue them!" -Jordan Combs |
