Thoughts from the Chairman

A mother recently shared a story with me. Fifteen years ago her son was taught that if a bully picked on a classmate and you stepped in to help defend the student, then you were both at fault and could be kicked out of school. In other words, at this school, kids were discouraged from standing up to wrong behavior and told not to help.

Our country was founded on Judeo-Christian values: Moses stood up to the mighty and enslaving Egyptian empire; David stood up to Goliath; Gideon, Esther, Paul…the list goes on. To speak out is our strength. To be silent is not an option. Our community and the defense of family, free enterprise, and law and order depend on our courageous voices speaking up.

Let's hold the standard to stand up to bullies and bullying ideologies no matter what the cultural trends may be.

United We Stand!

Law and Order: One of BCGOP's Core Values

The BCGOP recently held a Red, White, and Back the Blue fundraiser.

In recognition of the bravery and service of our local police officers, the BCGOP awarded three Asheville Police Officers for saving the life of a man that was shot in Asheville. Senior Officers, J. Kelson, L. Hawes, and T. Pisani exhibited valor as they rendered aid for five minutes in the middle of a crowd that was becoming increasingly agitated. They rendered life-saving aid to the victim, while not knowing the identity or location of the shooters. That's the epitome of community service and BRAVERY!

The awards for the officers were presented on September 25th at the BCGOP HQ in recognition and appreciation for their brave service and their dedicated to our community.

THANK YOU

FOR YOUR SERVICE

Sen. Daniel Statement on Veto of Bipartisan Elections Boards Bill

Raleigh, N.C. – Sen. Warren Daniel (R-Burke) released the following statement in response to Gov. Roy Cooper's veto of Senate Bill 749, "No Partisan Advantage in Elections":

"North Carolinians deserve to have the knowledge and confidence that their state and local boards of elections are operating in the best interest of the voters, not a particular political party. Single-party control has led to distrust and skepticism among voters. Voters should be asking themselves why Gov. Cooper is so desperate to maintain his partisan grip on the State Board of Elections. I look forward to once again overriding Gov. Cooper's veto and establishing truly bipartisan boards of elections in North Carolina."
