Autumn Newsletter 2021

We hope that you have enjoyed what has been an unusually long dry summer; although the season has now changed and so it is opportune to send out this Autumn Newsletter.

It was always going to be the case that Covid -19 did not move out of general circulation after vaccinations and that we would have to live with and manage the effects for a while to come. This is certainly the case and we are sure that along with others we are watching to see what the various Governments may do as part of the winter plan B. In the meantime we would still ask that hand sanitiser is used on entry and exit to the buildings and that you wear a mask when moving around the common parts of the property. As we have mentioned before if there are any issues that you consider require to be addressed then please let us know.

MEETING ROOM

We are delighted to advise that we have, with the receipt of the building warrant, placed an order with a company, Iron and Pine, to undertake the production of the new meeting room. We do have a few on-site service issues to attend to and will update as these progress. This may involve a short period of disruption to part of the access road however none of this will be totally closed off and moving to all parts of the site will be maintained. After the initial site works delivery of the meeting room will be in January 2022. As soon as we know a date for that we will also advise ensuring we have in place a strategy for completing this part of the new build. In advance of all of this we thank you for your patience and co-operation.

We intend to be marketing this suite for use by all customers of Kirkholm and offering the facility to the wider business community. Adverts and notices will be placed appropriately to give full details for booking, costings and opening hours.

CYCLE STORE

We applied to Cycle Scotland for a grant to install a bike store at Kirkhill. The application process involving a series of requirements in terms of delivery of a cycle scheme has been completed. We were as such successful in gaining the grant and the bike store has been placed to the rear of 1A at Kirkhill House. As we are being encouraged to change the manner in which we commute to work with cycling being one possibility, we will be introducing information on safe commute and general cycle routes. In due course, there may be more detail on guided routes and events. We would all like to be more healthy and help towards “Net Zero”

COP 26

As you will be aware Cop26 is on in Glasgow from the 31st October until the 12th November 21. Whilst this could be a landmark change in how we deal with climate change (see article above on net-zero cycling) we should also be aware that it will bring with it a degree of change in travelling around Glasgow. One of the benefits of having an office presence at Kirkhill and Midholm is that we are out with the travel restriction areas and as such our journeys to and from work should be unaffected by any road closures.

GENERAL

We have completed a series of sign updates and some general building/fabric repairs at both Kirkhill and Midholm. We are continuing to look at and consider works that may improve the business and working environments at both Kirkhill and Midholm. These may include solar energy and electric charge points. Whilst we are at the early stages of these investigations we will of course keep you updated as to progress and outcomes.

AT KIRKHOLM: We believe that we offer quality offices in excellent locations and with on site maintenance that can be both proactive in terms of planned repairs and maintenance and react quickly should an issue arise as an emergency during working hours and out with.
