The Essentials

Creating a truly inclusive workplace requires the right tools. This month, we’re highlighting four key elements every leader should have in their DEIA toolbox:
 

1. Self-Reflection
Encourage regular self-reflection to uncover biases and assumptions that may impact work and interactions. Personal growth fuels inclusivity.

2. Climate Surveys
Assess your workforce's experience with climate surveys, providing insights into what’s working and where improvement is needed.

3. Unconscious Bias Training
Equip teams to identify and challenge biases that influence decision-making. Consistent training helps maintain an inclusive culture.

4. Employee Resource Groups (ERGs)
ERGs foster belonging and advocacy, creating supportive spaces where diverse voices are amplified and heard.
 

These tools are just the beginning. There are countless ways to support your team and build an inclusive culture. By taking intentional steps, you can create a workplace where everyone thrives.

This past September, we introduced our Monthly Challenge to encourage reflection and action. This month, we invite you to continue that practice with a fresh set of questions designed to help deepen your commitment to inclusion and equity in the workplace.

Event Spotlight: Langley Summit

At this year’s Langley Summit, our CEO, Dr. Yolanda Avent-Roane, led two insightful workshops: Creating Intentional Spaces of Belonging and Inclusion, which focused on cultivating environments where every employee’s voice is truly heard and respected, and Neurodiversity in the Workplace, exploring how embracing diverse thinking styles can fuel innovation and creativity.
