It's All Happening HERE at SBM
Dear SBM friend,
A lot has, is, and hopefully will continue to take place for SBM! My preaching schedule has remained busy for the month of February, and I rejoice in all that God continues to do in these evangelistic meetings. I preached in 4 churches last month, which is unusual given the previous history of winter being slow months for evangelism and revival meetings. I've journeyed across our state preaching the Gospel, and I am eternally grateful for the wonderful opportunity. He continues to open the doors, and I attempt to remain faithful to that which He has called me.
This coming summer, I will be journeying to the U.K., Guatemala, and possibly the Philippines, Lord willing. Pray God would open doors for Gospel conversations to take place.
From March 19th-26th, I will be travelling to Fort Worth, Texas to visit with a specific church regarding a possible opportunity for ministry. Without releasing much detail, pray that God would reveal Himself to us in a special way, showing us His will as we seek to advance the Gospel in different ways. This could be a great opportunity.
Last month, we discussed a new ministry which would reach folks outside of a church setting. Each day (Mondays - Saturdays) our ministry releases short devotional videos ranging from 1-2 Minutes entitled "God's Minute". These devotionals seek to encourage and equip believers and unbelievers alike with God's Word. In times like these, people are continuously searching for hope. Our responsibility is to point them to the hope found in Jesus Christ. These videos have been successful in accomplishing this goal! For the month of February, we released a total of 17 devotionals. At the time of this letter, we have reached approximately 6,462 individuals with these videos just this month! For us, I count that as a wonderful success as God's Word is presented! These daily devotionals can be found on TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and through our website at www.spencerbellministries.org.
But we need your help! Our ministry posts these videos daily. If you view these devotionals, and if they serve as an encouragement to you, we simply ask that you share them with someone who may need a little encouragement in their daily walk with Christ. Our ministry pays out of pocket to produce these, and our one desire is to see the Gospel spread to as many people as possible.
If you receive an Alabama Baptist Newspaper, you may have discovered my picture alongside many other wonderful men of God. As of this month, I am the newest member of our Alabama Conference of Southern Baptist Evangelists. All the individuals pictured are those who serve in some area of evangelism, whether vocationally or bi-vocationally. I'm thankful to partner with Alabama Baptists and local evangelists as we remain focused on advancing the Gospel and growing the Kingdom of God! Pray for these men as they faithfully proclaim God's Word. Evangelism is by far one of the most difficult ministries to pursue, mainly due to the lack of support or recognition from churches and entities. I converse with evangelists weekly who barely pay the bills, but the Lord provides. Pray for these men, support these men, and express your gratitude to them for stepping out on faith and answering the call of God. It is a hard calling to pursue, but God is faithful!
As reiterated from last month, our budget has been approved with minor adjustments. However, we are slightly behind on our finances for the year. We are believing that these will level out during the Summer and Fall months, and we will adjust accordingly. Continue to pray for our ministry to remain fully funded as we strive to remain faithful to the calling of God.
I continue to receive financial contributions, and no words can express how grateful I am for your continued support in this area! Because of you, I am able to continue in this ministry. I am considered full time, and this is my only source of income. Many of the churches I am privileged to be with fail to meet even the most basic of needs for our ministry, often providing an honorarium of $50.00, sometimes not enough to buy fuel to travel home. However, again, God is faithful! If we trust in the one who called us, He will provide! Thankfully, He provides through many of you.
