November- December Newsletter |
Welcome to my first ever newsletter. In this and subsequent issues I will be sharing news, reading lists, reviews, events and general recommendations, as well as chatting a little about what's going on in my world. |

This month saw the release of Dark Light, completing what has become known as, The Terror Trilogy. I've been delighted with early feedback for it and the amount of affection that people hold for the Terror books. We could barely keep up with the demand. If you would like to order your copy, you can do so using the link below. |

With several members of the Northern Ireland Crime Fiction Writing Community celebrating new or imminent releases, what better way to mark the occasion than to have a virtual cocktail party. So we did, and an excellent evening it was too. Check out: Problems With Girls by Kelly Creighton, Witness by Simon Maltman, both of which are fantastic. Also, soon to be released, Who Took Eden Mulligan by Sharon Dempsey, promises an excellent first instalment in a new series. |

I've largely been staying local with my current reads as I've already mentioned above, all of which would make excellent Christmas gifts. For some additional festive crime fiction fixes as a yuletide treat for your loved ones...or yourself, I thoroughly recommend that you check out the work of Steve Cavanagh, Stuart Neville, Catriona King and Gerard Brennan. In addition to my local reads, I've strayed over the border too and have been enjoying the excellent, Sam Blake, aka Vanessa Fox O Loughlin of late.At this time I would encourage you to shop in your local independent book store, No Alibis, Belfast and Secret Bookshelf, Carrickfergus being two of my personal favourites. You will be assured of a warm welcome and will almost certainly leave with a haul of excellent books, often signed by the author. |

The Northern Ireland Festival of Writing 2020 |
It has also been a busy time for me and my fellow directors at The Northern Ireland Festival of Writing. With Covid restrictions still in place, we have moved online this year. With a wide and varied range of content being televised on Friday 27th November by our partners, NVTV being accompanied by an excellent programme of online workshops running throughout the remainder of November and into Mid-December, the festival continues to go from strength to strength. | | |

I'm hoping to do another Pre-Christmas Issue, to include a Festival Round Up, some book reviews and news of some new projects that I've been working on. I might even include a bit of a vodcast if I can master the art, who knows? |
