Jeremiah 22:15,16 NCV “ ‘Does having a lot of cedar in your house make you a great king? Your father was satisfied to have food and drink. He did what was right and fair, so everything went well for him. He helped those who were poor and needy, so everything went well for him. This is what it means to know God.’ Says the Lord.” It's hard to do more than what we already do from day to day. Life is busy, we need more money, there is no time, and we don’t have enough help. Many things are constraining us, it’s a struggle to get to the end of every day let alone do anything more than what we’re already doing. Working to maintain the lifestyles we have created can sometimes work to distract us from God’s purposes. God loves us, and what He has in mind for us is much better than what we have in mind. God’s way of thinking is outward while ours is inward. We’re afraid of not having enough for now and for the future and spend our time and energy to fulfill societal expectations. Having good things and a comfortable life is not wrong, but if that is what we are pursuing, we will not experience satisfaction. The richest life is one lived loving what God loves: the world. |

Malawi clinic 2023 From 23-27 October we partnered again with Hand of Hope (Joyce Meyer Ministries missions branch) and held a free community clinic in Malawi. The outreach was held in Mtsiliza, the area where we have a Hope Center, school, and church. The team consisted of 20 volunteer doctors, nurses, and nurse practitioners from the USA, a small team from our church in Burundi who worked last year’s clinic in Burundi, and the Malawi church team. The week was amazing! There’s no other way to describe it. We saw thousands cared for and many saved. The following chart sent to me by Hand of Hope gives the final stats of the outreach: |

We’re at a loss for words at the amazing goodness of God throughout the outreach. We hope to hold another clinic in Malawi next year should God open the door. |

New Developments Coming We’ll soon be launching more online content to widen our scope of outreach. As you know, we’ve held several Leadership Academy modules in the past couple of years (and will continue to do so) and we understand that there are many places we can’t go. As such, we are going to begin broadcasting more via our website with Academy modules as well as leadership training along with other missions-related things we’re developing. Uganda progress Things are moving quickly in Uganda. Currently, we are amassing all the documents necessary for registration (which are many). In the meanwhile, our pastor on the ground has already begun working in the community and leading many to Christ. It’s exciting to think that in just a short while, the church will be meeting officially. We are grateful! Travel plans We are set to travel for a quick trip Stateside from 4 December – 17 January. Our calendar is quite full, thankfully, and we look forward to seeing family and partners. There is more news than space allows here in the newsletter, please consider following us online at www.africa-and-beyond.netand on Lea’s blog www.aculturalshift.com for more news and pictures. Thank you for all of your support and prayers that is greatly appreciated. Jamie, Lea, and Andreya |
