Dear friends,
We are please to announce that this fall Thomas Richards, assisted by Jessica Losilla-Hébrail and Hyun Ju Baek, both long-term members of the Workcenter of Jerzy Grotowski and Thomas Richards, will be holding a workshop entitled Threads of Creation, in Pontedera, Italy. The workshop, aimed at professional and student actors and directors, as well as all those who may be interested advancing their practical knowledge of theatre craft, will be held from September 19th to October 7th, 2022.
Threads of Creation will strive to unearth the creative potentialities of each participant through work on the relations between precision and organicity, tradition and individual work, as well working on text development, action, movement, rhythm, composition, singing, and the living voice. During Threads of Creation, participants will come in contact with the basic principles of Mr. Richards’ approach to theatre creation. As well, participants will take part in singing sessions exploring an approach to work on song and action that has been at the heart of Richards’ research for more than 35 years. Such practice explores the potential impact that the melodic and rhythmical qualities of a given song can have on the person who sings.
Threads of Creation as well will be open to a limited number of people wishing to observe.

Threads of Creation is hosted by Theatre No Theatre, a non-profit Cultural Association formed in Italy in February 2022 by some former members of the Workcenter of Jerzy Grotowski and Thomas Richards.
