Transform 1012 N. Main Street is transforming the former Ku Klux Klan Auditorium in Fort Worth, TX into The Fred Rouse Center for Arts and Community Healing, named after a Black butcher who was lynched by a White mob in 1921.

Dear Friends and Supporters of Transform 1012 N. Main Street,

Transform 1012 N. Main Street is proud to announce the purchase of the former

Ku Klux Klan Klavern No. 101 Auditorium in Fort Worth.

The acquisition signals a momentous step in the movement toward transforming the building and monument, once dedicated to hate and violence, into The Fred Rouse Center for Arts and Community Healing, a space of liberation and reparative justice. Through the space, Transform 1012 N. Main Street seeks to return resources to the communities that were targeted for marginalization and violence by the KKK.

Read our PRESS RELEASE to learn more about the generous time, donations, and grants that made this possible.

We are also pleased to share that Transform 1012 N. Main Street has been approved for a National Endowment for the Arts Grants for Arts Projects award. This grant will support a competition and exhibition for the design of The Fred Rouse Center for Arts and Community Healing to allow for community feedback and discussion.

Transform 1012 N. Main Street is among 1,248 projects across America that were selected to receive this first round of fiscal year 2022 funding in the Grants for Arts Projects category.

Thank you for your ongoing support. We would not be at this watershed and historic moment without you!
