Hi, everybody.
A brief check in as we near the end of February.
Congratulations to everyone who played in the Texas JCT on their fine performances. If you haven't caught up with all the latest you can find our report via the Tigers Blog. Long story short, it was a great final JCT of the 2023/24 season and a weekend that should make everyone at the club proud. Similarly we have compiled the latest Ranking Report, which is also an enjoyable read and may be found here. This coming weekend the squash world has the High School Nationals being contested and we wish everyone participating in the event all the very best in representing their schools with skill and sportsmanship. I'll be there for a day or two in person to observe and certainly we'll have streaming on at the club and be following from afar in NJ!
Finally a reminder that March is very much the "National Championships Month", with Gold, Silver and Bronze Nationals being conducted in Philadelphia. I encourage everyone to consider playing the appropriate Championship for their ranking. It is a tremendous occasion and a suitable climax to a hard working season.
Quick Hits:
We are offering a 3 month membership currently which confers a significant discount. The 3 month deal is perfect for new members or for existing month to month members who wish to make a commitment to training throughout the Spring. Details may be found here and please reply to this email if you'd like to talk anything through
We have our next Rehearsal Tournament coming up on March 9, a great opportunity for match play pre-Nationals and open to members and non-members alike. As always, draws are capped at 50 so early entry is advised - signups here or by replying to this email
Zoom coaching is available for the Baltimore Gold next weekend, details are unchanged and may be found via this link
Spring is on the way and that has traditionally been the ideal time to start learning SQUASH! We have the perfect entry program for novices, please feel free to pass on details of our Learn to Play Starter Pack to friends or give them my contacts and I can assist from there
Finally, we would remind parents not park or idle outside our front door to pick up or drop off as a courtesy to our neighbors - please park in a space and walk into the club to ensure safety and avoid congestion
I am very aware that this is a busy squash time of year, with transitions from school squash in some cases and certainly some planning for Spring and even Summer on the horizon. With these factors in mind I have again made time in my coaching week to chat with parents, either by Zoom or face to face to go over future plans and address player development questions. Please reply to this email and we'll make an appointment to go over your child's squash.
See you all at training!
