Through our unique value-based financial ownership model, more than 20 individuals already have a permanent financial stake in what the Creative Evolutions ecosystem has created and will create in the future. We worked with dozens of individuals and organizations across the country in the last year, and it was thrilling to explore how together we all have SO MANY OPPORTUNITIES. We can decide, individually or collectively, to do anything we want to do, and we are not beholden to how things have always been done, to what we’ve done before, or to what other people do that may or may not be working for them. Thank you to all the individuals who said YES to moving forward in new ways, and those who continue to do so! |

In our strategic and visioning work with organizations, we moved boldly away from old planning paradigms into a focus on ‘Strategic Pathways’ that emphasizes the distinct and clear options available to a team based on what they care most about, and how making a true strategic move requires action-based adjustment and realignment from all parts of the organization. |

In 2023, Creative Evolutions won first place in the Arts and Culture pitch competition! For this year's 2024 summit, we will work with our partners at Midnight Oil Collective to curate a set of new thinking and new solutions from around the country, both within cultural spaces and cross-industry panels as well! |

New Models of Leadership and Staffing at All Levels |

PIONEERING HUMAN-CENTERED HIRING AND STAFFING |
|
|
The first thing Creative Evolutions was asked to do a year ago was develop a more effective, dignified, and humane way to go about Executive Search and other staff hiring. |
|
|
We have completed three Executive Director Searches and a number of other hiring processes, utilizing a variety of new tools - including paying candidates and paying for referrals and recommendations. We also shifted away from the board search committee model to one that includes the entire board and staff, and that builds internal and external relationships through uplifting candidate evaluation by people who have specific lived experience doing those roles and tasks. We also have reset the approach to hiring into one of 'transition' that includes building in mentorship, planning, support, and adjustment throughout any new employee's first year. |

We are currently facilitating staff transitions at a variety of creative and cultural organizations - including lifting up different models that power leadership in groups instead of trying to force an entire organization to rely on one unicorn leader. (Hint: Unicorns don't exist!) We have also developed several new processes around staffing and hiring, and two very practical staff transition guides that begin by reframing our fundamental thinking about staff members. (Everyone Will Leave - and That's OK!). |
