Dear , It's Monday again! Most of the time this is bad news, Monday may be the most hated day of the week...BUT NOT TODAY. Because today there is a Kabula newsletter, a highly anticipated recurrence which brings joy for the week to come. The lingering thought of a future newsletter sometimes brings a smile even on newsletterless Mondays. Isn't this magic? Manufacturing We are working in close contact with Conor Flynn, an experienced 3D modeler, and the 3D team at BangWee Games to make sure that the translation to injection moulding goes as smooth as possible. Things are going as great as they could, though we are slightly late on our schedule (as flagged in our previous KS update). Here you have some images to show what kind of changes you can expect, though we forecast something a bit more drastic for certain features (such as the mouth of Shaggy, which probably was too ambitious a feat). |

ScoundrEgg sculpt, original by Rod Tinapay to the left, translation to injection moulding by Conor Flynn to the right. Modifications include: Thicker legs, thicker weapon, less cavities, gruesome blood. The cute face in front is still exactly the same! |
Polar Rhinoplast sculpt, original by Rod to the left, translation to injection moulding by Conor to the right. Modifications include: Mostly thicker and more staggered legs. Its butt is now super ripped, you'll see when you get the game! |
Reusable Coffee Cup sculpt, originl by Rod to the left, translation to injection moulding by Conor to the right. Modifications include: Sand to fill gaps underneath the legs, thicker and shorter straw. We also moved a bit the claws to make it look like digging! (Ignore the extra cylinder below the base, that's not actually there!) |

Revisions We have been polishing files for ages, and the work is still not 100% done, but we see the light at the end of the tunnel! This work is mostly on the shoulders of Miguel on the graphic interface, Dario on the illustrations and Antonio to bother them both with senseless requests. This week we finished graphic design for the last tokens, Set Up cards for the heroes and Guardian cards (content was done already of course, we just needed a final design). Which means we are done with new things and only in the review phase. We are also exploring potential modifications to work done previously. Examples below! |
Fire tokens for Floppy, Banana Peel tokens for Bibi&Bobu. |
Item cards versions. To the left, the original as shown on Kickstarter. In the centre, lighter background proposed in our latest KS update. To the right, our latest proposal: Paper texture. |
Example of Hero Set Up card. Note that the bottom of the card, showing the unique hero power, will use the same background as the items, so that all bonuses and actions that you can access during the game are colour coded in the same way! |
Please consider that many details, like the background for the items, are still work in progress and being debated over our discord channel, so if you feel strongly for one option or the other, please do join us and let us know. |
(if you don't have discord you can simply answer this mail of course!) |
Rulebook v16 of the rulebook is up for comments, we will soon update all the images to the latest version of everything, but text and structure is not supposed to change much, so this is a good time to comment. Thanks to those who already did in the previous versions! |

Playtesting As part of the revision process, we are playtesting a lot on Tabletopia through our discord channel. This week we were lucky enough to have some great game designers joining us, but even on nights when nobody else is available, Antonio is usually playing a solo game and writing down his impressions. As usual, everybody is very welcome to join! The next newsletter is going to be on November 14th and next KS update on
31st October! Next time, Design Diary entry about our hero Clayton! Thanks a lot for reading and following our progresses, you're the best :) Stranger Games Studio |
