Short list for VV2026 - who is on the list?

Welcome new Legato member choir.

Message from your Board

Your Legato Board is the European Association of LGBTQ+ Choirs and we want to connect more closely with our members and allies over the coming year.

This year has been very challenging for us all dealing with the consequences of the Covid pandemic for our choirs, your members, loneliness, grief, sickness and isolation; plus learning new skills and rising to new challenges of virtual and hybrid concerts, events and experiences. The creative inventiveness of so many, has been inspiring and enthusing.

Our world will never be the same as we look forward to the possibility of a post covid world. Your Association will champion telling our stories, being advocates for equal rights, using our music and influence, as we see threats to our communities.

We are stronger together and we have made enormous progress over the last 23 years and together we can continue to sing in harmony for a safer beautiful world where all voices are free.Your Board all wish you all a happy and peaceful festive season however you celebrate and good health in the coming year.

Martin Brophy

So we like to share the presentation with you as we think you can grab the one or another idea out of it.

Presentation from Bologna Team to AGM

We are very happy to include the presentation Team Bologna, We are all very excited by the festival's positive beacon of light on the horizon for 2023.

Meet the Board

The Board has met and elected the team positions and we have had a virtual away day focusing on Fundraising. The day was facilitated by Legato Board Advisor Martin Kaufman (Martin Kaufman Philanthropy) to create the building blocks of our Case for Support to develop our Fundraising Strategy.

We hope to launch the Legato Leaders College and get funding so we can invite choir leaders to training sessions to develop and improve skills to run your choirs and initiate the support of new and fledgling choirs. We will share more about this in the New Year when we have our second session of this 6-month project.

Have a look at your Board members and we are delighted to welcome Petra Pechaček (picture), who is a Historian and works as a curator of cultural monuments.

"My wife and I live in a small community in the wine country close to Karlsruhe, South-West-Germany.

Since 2002 I am a member (second soprano) of Karlsruhe's lesbian choir "Die WEIBrations". I have been serving on it's steering committee for 16 years until January 2020".
