GRANT ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

Dear Friends and supporters,

As I begin my travel inward for this winter season, I find in my reflections that I am filled with gratitude for all of you. I have been sending out a structured newsletter for just over 5 years now. Looking back, the first one was sent in September 2017.  Fun fact: all the previous newsletters can be found here (on my website under the "Updates" tab, then on the left side of the page).

Your support and presence has been so important to my artist’s path.

Thank you.

Martha

New Award Announcement

see all the artists here

My 2023 plan:

Bird will develop skills in exploring basketry with a rural audience through an exhibit and by teaching a class, improve audience engagement by developing a social media presence, and utilize services to support administrative functioning.

I'm so grateful to be living in a state

that puts great emphasis on valuing the

contributions of artists!

Gingerbread Wonderland at Norway House

Catch our GINGERBREAD VILLAGE on WCCO news!  They said "made by members of Plymouth church", although it was our Drop-in group that made it.

My contribution is the house in the red square above with the spiral on it. I was so excited to see at the end of the clip when the anchor pointed to my house saying he wanted to buy and live in that house. What a hoot!

My stated plan was:

Bird will update her website, improve artwork documentation, and address accessibility needs by purchasing equipment to improve administrative functioning and engagement with Minnesota audiences in her visual arts practice.

And I did it!!

Check out my new On Display page here to see my work on the walls in galleries!

Martha Bird is a fiscal year 2022 recipient of a Creative Support for Individuals grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board.  This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.

Thank you for sharing in my life!
