Wanted: Citizens Who Won’t Be

Fooled, Bullied, or Controlled

In junior high, I heard a poem about a farmer who admired a spider's intricate web. Out of curiosity, each morning, he destroyed it, only to watch the spider rebuild its masterpiece. But over time, the spider’s web became less symmetrical, more fragile. Eventually, the farmer crushed the spider against the barn’s wooden planks.

This tale raises an important question: Are we, too, being worn down, bullied, and broken?

Consider the goals of communism—often intertwined with globalism, progressivism, or "wokism"—highlighted in former FBI agent W. Cleon Skousen's 1958 book, The Naked Communist. Here are five of the 45 objectives:

  1. Control schools by softening the curriculum.

  2. Infiltrate the press and take control of editorial writing.

  3. Break down moral standards by promoting pornography and obscenity.

  4. Eliminate prayer and any religious expression in schools.

  5. Discredit the family as an institution.

Our web of society—family, church, and community—faces daily meddling. Will we conform, grow lax, or give up?

The 2024 election calls for citizens who refuse to be fooled, bullied, or controlled. Get out and vote. Join our local GOP volunteers as poll observers or greeters, make phone calls, offer rides to the elderly, or distribute campaign cards in your neighborhood. Our society thrives on individualism, hard work, and brotherly love. Let’s rebuild our web each day—stronger and more resilient.

As it's said, "The goal of goodness is assiduously earned and won." Read below to see how your GOP candidates are serving our communities, then join us in our efforts.

Get Out the Vote: BCGOP Strong

“Why vote…?”

Horrendous damage and hardships are at hand. While we work on humanitarian efforts, our mission remains - to get conservative voices elected to represent your values. Here's what we are doing:

  •  Our Outreach Call Team reached 5,000 Republican voters over 80 years old last month.

  • Next, we’ll call inconsistent Republican voters to ask if we can do something to assist them, ensure they

vote early and help others get to the polls.

  • Starting next week, our iHeart email campaign will send voter guides, early voting details, and volunteer opportunities to 70,000 targeted voters.

  • Look for our social media campaign series, "Why are you voting this election?" across platforms, including YouTube (@bcgopmedia), Instagram (bcgopmedia), Twitter (@bcgop), and TikTok (@bcgopmedia).

  • See our website for updates: www.buncombegop.com.

  • From generous supporters:  50,000 texts to be sent to help Buncombe conservatives (wherever they may be with reception) apply for absentee ballots or contact us for assistance.  Clayton Ballentine administers the RumblUp text program.  Thank you Clayton!

Remember, our office is open and ready to assist you with whatever you need to ensure your voice is counted this election.

New Early Voting Hours:

The Buncombe County Board of Elections approved new times and locations for early voting under authority of an emergency resolution by the North Carolina State Board of Elections (NCSBE). On Oct. 7, the NCSBE authorized Buncombe and a dozen other counties that were "severely disrupted" by Tropical Storm Helene to modify election procedures.

The local resolution established daily early voting hours of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., from Oct. 17 through Nov. 1, including weekends. Voting will begin at 9 a.m. on Nov. 2, the last day of early voting, but per state law the polls will close at 3 p.m. that day.

State News:

NCGOP Statement on Lt. Governor Mark Robinson: “Mark Robinson has categorically denied the allegations made by CNN but that won’t stop the Left from trying to demonize him via personal attacks. The left needs this election to be a personality contest, not a policy contest because if voters are focused on policy, Republicans win on Election Day.”

District 11 Chairman Michele Woodhouse’s statement:  “...I assure you the God fearing, gun toting, MAGA mountain deplorables will crawl over hurricane debris, down mountains sides, across roads that no longer exist to VOTE FOR TRUMP!!”    Amen sista!
