On February 22nd, it will be FPHC's 5th Anniversary! We are all so excited to be celebrating our 5th year as a Family Promise Affiliate and would like all of you to join us in our celebration! Instead of throwing a party, we decided to celebrate by starting this year off right for our families. Help Us Move In (HUMI), a nonprofit organization whose mission is to help children escape homelessness, has gifted FPHC with a $15,000 matching grant for our Homelessness Prevention Program! Thus, we would like to dedicate our anniversary celebration to fulfilling our half of the grant! As such, we will be running a fundraiser on our social media! You can find all of them below. Additionally, if you would like to donate early please click the button below! We thank you all in advance for your generosity and look forward to celebrating this momentous occasion together! Remember, together WE can! |

On February 11th, the FPHC Board had its first in-person planning retreat of 2023! This meeting included not only the FPHC Board though. In fact, it included some personnel and even Family Promise National's amazing COO, Sandra Miniutti! During this meeting, the FPHC Board discussed many concepts and ideas, but most importantly, they set plans and goals for 2023 and beyond. The enthusiasm and determination at the meeting as well as their ambitious but realistic goals set make 2023 look brighter for FPHC than ever before! We all have high hopes for FPHC's future, but what we hope for the most is that all of our supporters, including yourself, stick with us as we shoot for even greater heights. Your support is what has helped keep us going and do what we have, so please continue to support us as we move further into 2023! |

One of the attendees at the planning retreat was our newest board member, Terry Cooper! We are all incredibly grateful that he joined the FPHC Board and look forward to all the good he will do! For now, though, take the time to read a bit more about him below: |
Mr. Cooper is a mortgage banker who helps people get preapproved to purchase homes. He assists realtors, attorneys, landlords, and CPAs by taking on the clientele they send over to him and helping the clients achieve the goal they have in mind! His business is called loanDepot and it has been running for the past 18 years. Mr. Cooper said that he decided to join the FPHC Board because he really wants to help. In particular, he wants to help the community and help with the problem of homelessness. He has a kind and ambitious heart, which truly showed at the planning retreat. On top of all of the work he has done and plans to do, Mr. Cooper has many other fun talents and hobbies! A little fun fact about Mr. Cooper is that he is a self-taught barber. He was been cutting his own hair for the last 32 years! Mr. Cooper also loves to watch basketball, read ancient books of wisdom, and play card games when he has the time! |

Future Volunteer Opportunities |
This year we hope to increase our community involvement and engagement. As such, we decided to extend the offer of future volunteer opportunities to those who are interested! We plan to sign up for upcoming festivals in Jersey City and will be providing more information on our attendance at them as we finalize the details. If you are interested in hearing more about these opportunities, please email our Research Director, Alyssa Lopez, at the following email address: a.lopez@familypromisehudsoncounty.org. Please put "Interested In Future Volunteer Opportunities" as the subject of the email. When the information becomes available, Ms. Lopez will be sending out an email to all those who have previously contacted her. Additionally, if you are not interested now, the information will also be put up on our website in case you change your mind! Click the button below to go to our website: |
