All Year Evolution: Embracing Healthy Behavior Change |
As we begin the New Year, let's be kind to ourselves. Healthy behavior change is not built on comparison, deadlines, or pressure. For some of us, a New Year's resolution can be very motivating - and for some of us we may not be ready for a change. Understanding what goes into making healthy behavior change can be a useful tool to those of us considering and even for those of us not yet considering making a change. Whether that change is quitting smoking, getting more active, or even improving our sleep schedule - we are all at different points of readiness. All Year Evolution was created to help us talk about and better understand just that. |

| | The SFP curriculum is an 11-week virtual course with 90-minute sessions designed for families with children 7-17. Parents learn to increase desired behaviors in children by using attention and rewards, clear communication, effective discipline, substance use education, problem solving and limit setting. Children learn effective communication, understanding feelings, social skills, problem solving, resisting peer pressure, consequences of substance use, and compliance with parental rules. Families engage in structured family activities, practice therapeutic child play, conduct family meetings, learn communication skills, practice effective discipline, reinforce positive behaviors in each other, and plan family activities together. | | |

The Chariho Youth Task Force was founded over 13 years ago by Chariho Middle School students and is now a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization doing work across our community to improve health and wellness. Our mission is to educate, empower, and engage youth and adults in order to create a sense of community, to promote wellness, and to sustain opportunity for Chariho voices to be heard. We envision a society driven toward physical and mental well-being created through collaboration, education, and activism to promote a positive community climate. |
