April has been a busy month for the Buddies and we've had lots of things going on and there are lots of things coming up too. We've several opportunities if you would like to get involved with, we're looking for people to help with our Street Ambassador and Invigilator roles and we've been asking our volunteers for their Buddies stories so let's dive in ...

Buddies Blog

If you've been paying close attention to Buddies activities online you'll have seen some of our Buddies Blogs.

We've been asking our volunteers to tell us a bit about how they became a Buddy, their experiences and Buddy stories. Head on over to our website to read more...

Become a Street Ambassador

We’ve a great little team of Street Ambassadors but we’re always looking for more!

Our Street Ambassadors walk around Nantwich town centre (always in pairs) providing a warm welcome to Nantwich and spreading the word about the Buddies. We know that many people will struggle to get back into society as they’ve stayed at home for so long. So we keep an eye out for people who look anxious and might just need some company/reassurance.

Shifts are 10.30am – 12noon on Thursdays and Saturdays, coinciding with market day. If you would like to be involved, please email info@nantwichbuddies.org.

Volunteers’ Week – THANK YOU!

Volunteers’ Week takes place every year 1-7 June and is a chance to share stories and highlight the invaluable contribution that volunteers make throughout the UK. Never has it been more important than now, after the challenges of the last year and the huge impact that volunteers have made.

We’d like to say a big THANK YOU to all of our wonderful Nantwich Buddies and we'll be sharing more of their stories during Volunteer week and anything else that we can shout about! There will be lots of stories and activity shared over social media with the hashtag #VolunteersWeek and specifically for us #VolunteersWeekCE so look out for it.

If you would like to share any stories of your experiences with Nantwich Buddies - please do get in touch and email us at info@nantwichbuddies.org.

Happiness Hub Website and Blog launched

The Happiness Hub podcast is hosted by  Buddies founder Liz and volunteer coordinator Keds with guests each week talking all about mental health matters.

As part of the Happiness Hub, we've also been running a Happy Appy 6-week wellbeing course and launched the Happiness Hub Website and Blog. We want to keep those conversations about mental health going and to share advice on how to optimise your happiness.

Would you like to become a Reasehealth Exam Invigilator?

Last month the Buddies were asked to supply volunteer invigilators to Reaseheath College.

We've started already much to the delight of the college who have been very pleased with the response. If you would like to invigilate, please email us
