Annual Meeting Recap

Our 2024 Annual Meeting was well-attended, as 26 residents were greeted at the door by our neighbor and hostess, Dawn Perry.  Dawn and her husband Cameron set a lovely table filled with tasty sweets and drinks for the members to enjoy. (Dawn is pictured above, flanked by Beverly Bobbitt and Kellee Thorpe.)

Also, Dani Mains volunteered to act as our Elections official. She collected and counted the ballots and verified homeowners' standing. Later, she announced the results during the meeting.

Sharon Foster, our Treasurer, was also available to collect and record any dues payments.

Concerning the proposed increase of our HOA Dues for 2025, the Board had asked residents to approve an increase of $50 for next year to help offset future anticipated projects, such as the inevitable repaving of interior alleyways.

A total of 31 ballots were received on or before 1/19/24, with 14 members voting "Yes" and 17 homeowners voting "No." Thus, the proposal was defeated.

Under State regulations, HOAs may increase Association Dues by twenty percent (20%) annually, without formal approval by its membership. Therefore, next year's GVTH5 dues will be set at $120 to help with increasing expenses.

Election Results:
All Board members were re-elected by member ballots. Following the meeting, during the Executive Session, it was determined that each Board member would retain their positions:

Ronnie Hill - President
Courtney Bobbitt - Vice President
Rich Stottlemire- Secretary
Sharon Foster - Treasurer
Andrew Williams - Director

Our thanks to the Friends in Deed Organization for accommodating our needs so well. Considering just the week before, their building experienced a water pipe break - and the offices and meeting rooms were completely flooded.  Thanks to the quick thinking of the FID staff - the Green Valley Fire Department was contacted. GVFD, with strong arms and squeegees, was able to put the place back together in no time!

Also, our thanks to Debbie Kenyon, President of Green Valley Council, and David Romo McAllister, Executive Director, for the excellent presentation they provided regarding the benefits of belonging to the Green Valley Council organization.

Thank you to all who participated!

Dani Mains also celebrated her "_9th" Birthday at the Meeting!

Want to Can Your Can?

Many of us still have below-ground trash receptacles which once served as well, but are no longer necessary. Want to get rid of yours?

The Safety Committee has negotiated with our contractor Randy, to remove the old lid and cylinder and fill in the casing with sand at a set cost of only $25.00 for our homeowners.

Please contact Andrew Williams at 520-777-6026 if you want to be placed on the list or have any questions. Randy is set to begin work on February 1.

Please Don't Feed the Wildlife!

While our wild neighbors are sometimes fun to observe, some – such as javelinas – can be dangerous and destructive. If you're interested in learning more about the wildlife around us, Green Valley Council is sponsoring a community forum:

Minutes from the Annual Meeting will be posted on our website when they are completed.

In the meantime, thanks to Andrew Williams, we have posted all current GVTH5 Committee Reports on our Meeting Minutes & Legal page, as promised during the last regular Board Meeting.

The Reports will be kept up to date as activity warrants.

Make it another Great Green Valley Day!
