India's GDP is steadily getting back to pre-Covid times, improving employment scenario in the country. There has been a sustained demand for employment, both in the agricultural sector as well as in the non-agricultural sector, with average rural wage increased 4.4% for men and 4.6% for women. Additionally, several indicators show increase in formal sector jobs. However, the challenges with women labor force participation in formal and informal economy coupled with other challenges such as access to social security, tax benefits still prevail and we have a long way to go in solving the livelihood crisis. |
