Global Village, Warm wishes to you and yours in this new year. May it come with deepened healing and purpose, personal growth and meaningful relationships. The ongoing pandemic has altered the way we connect with ourselves, one another, and our communities. Please give yourself a generous amount of grace, compassion, and space as you continue to deal with the myriad uncertainties and changes. We know that now, more than ever, we need each other. As i am We Global Village continues to grow and stay grounded in our collective beliefs, centered in love and focused on service, we feed off of the energy of the whole while honoring and recognizing that individual humanity exists through interactions with and interdependence among people. We celebrate this reality. We human beings are resilient, creative, and wired for connection. We are all significant. Leaning into 2022, we invite you to join us in meditating on these guiding questions: - How might we upend unhealthy dynamics in systems that perpetuate individual and communal harm?
- How might organizations honor and acknowledge that people and situations are dynamic and constantly evolving?
- How might we engage with ourselves and each other in a life-giving way?
- How might we cultivate and support healing spaces within ourselves and between one another as we co-journey into an uncertain future?
- How might we co-create and claim joy as if it is a birthright?
Centering these questions is the ever-evolving exploration of i am We Global Village. We invite you to journey and explore with us. Our programming for 2022 includes intergenerational arts series with a healing and restorative focus. i am We. |

i am We Global Village Receives Madison Community Fund Grant for exploring the voices of youth and elders through the arts |
|
|
i am We Global Village is excited to announce that we are a recipient of a Madison Community Foundation Dane County Youth Fund Grant. The grant and individual donations make it possible for our i am We Global Village family to grow and expand our partnerships and work. Exploring the voices of youth and elders through poetry and visual arts will be the focus of the grant funding. To support this work, we are creating an i am We Global Village Traveling Art Workshop materials kit. As we continue to move through the evolving pandemic, when people of all ages have been more isolated, opportunities for human connection are critical. Creating intergenerational, communal spaces for people to tap into their well of creativity, while connecting with one another, can cultivate fertile ground for healing. |

What people are saying about the 13th Justice Series: "Rudy opened my eyes to things that I was not aware of. He offered such a unique perspective on such a heavy topic. I don't think that I would have gotten as much out of this professional development if it weren't for his willingness to be so open and share with us. I am inspired to look inward and to focus on how I can do better and be better for my students and help to break the cycle." - Aly Becker, Middle School English Teacher 13th participants share what supported their learning... "The sharing and caring I observed between participants." "The easeful pace, full acceptance of whatever unfolds, and opportunities to share voice or chat." "The overall format allows time for processing and reflecting." |

| | Q & A with Madison Magazine and Rudy Bankston Q You recently formed the nonprofit “i am We Global Village,” an organization “committed to disrupting and dismantling the barriers and biases that prevent people from seeing each other’s full humanity.” Can you tell us more about that? A "...The ultimate goal is to work from the inside through i am We Coaching and Mentoring, and from the outside through the nonprofit, until the walls that divide the two come down and the Global Village becomes one and the same." | | |
|
| | In this episode of Black Oxygen, Rudy discusses education, leadership, boundaries, love and so much more. He says that we are collectively addicted to the status quo and that it is time for us to relearn how to connect with each other after so much separation. As it relates to education, systems change and relationships, Rudy reminds us that love is a mandate for it all. This conversation encourages each of us to get curious about our fear and woundedness but not get stuck there. It encourages us to lean in with love - love of self and love of each other. | | |
