Espero que estén bien y se mantengan saludables.
 

Como algunos de ustedes sabrán, la semana pasada el Comité Escolar nombró a la Dra. Greer como superintendente interino. Suponiendo que lleguemos a un acuerdo de empleo, ella tomará las riendas del Dr. Salim, cuyo último día es el 30 de junio de 2020.

La razón para contratar a un interino es que no estábamos sincronizados con el ciclo regular de contratación de superintendentes. El plan es comenzar la búsqueda formal de un superintendente permanente este verano para poder contratar a esa persona durante el otoño.

Acordamos que el superintendente interino podría solicitar el puesto permanente.

Por favor vea y escuche a continuación mis comentarios durante la reunión especial del Comité Escolar de la semana pasada que fueron parte de nuestras deliberaciones antes de la votación de nombramiento.  Mis comentarios empiezan en el minuto 17 del video.

Si bien no voté por la Dra. Greer, trabajaré con ella, el Comité Escolar y la comunidad para apoyar su trabajo como superintendente interina.

Dear Supporters,

Hope you are all doing well and staying healthy.

As some of you might know, last week the School Committee appointed Dr. Greer as interim superintendent.  Assuming we reach an employment agreement, she will be taking over from Dr. Salim, whose last day is June 30, 2020.

The reason for hiring an interim, is that the District was out of synch with the regular hiring cycle for superintendents.  The plan is to start the formal search for a permanent superintendent this summer to be able to hire that person during the fall.

We agreed that the interim superintendent could apply for the permanent position.

Please see and hear below my comments during last week's special School Committee meeting that were part of our deliberations ahead of the appointment vote.  My comments start at minute 17 of the video.

While I did not vote for Dr. Greer, I will work with her, the School Committee and the community in supporting her work as interim superintendent.
