Tank Tower - 2019 Major Project - Weeks 5 & 6 Update

Dear Owners & Residents,

 

Tank Tower has now started the Major Project, approved late February at the AGM, and this newsletter provides a weeks 5 & 6 update.  The project is now more than 65% complete.

Weeks 3 and 4

 

Tiling & Drains

During Weeks 5 & 6 tiling for Part A was complete, with one of the Podium Lots nearing completion.  Finalising the drains, silicon and a clean to be completed this week.

Podium Lot Part B

The other Podium Lot, being worked in two sections, had Part A completed and Part B started.  All pots and other items needed to be relocated so that Part B could be prepared with the removal of all tiles, and the first layer of waterproofing completed.

Exterior Painting

During weeks 5 & 6 balcony fronts were stripped, prepared, undercoated and painted, seeing the removal of calcium and rust stains, and improved the street appeal of the building.

Plumbing Changes & Fire Collars

With the completion of Hydraulic review, changes were made to the plumbing at Level 4, and fire collars fitted to drains where required.

Next Steps

Some of the work expected this coming week, subject to weather, includes...

a) Completion of one Podium Lot

b) Installation of the tile bed and top layer of waterproofing to the second Podium Lot

c) Installation of glass barrier around the pool

d) Waterproofing to the tower rooftop 

 

Noisy Works

There maybe infrequent periods where some noise will be experienced, but the noise will be much reduced when compared to the first few weeks of the project.

 

Builders hours

Approved work hours are between 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday, and 9am to 3pm Saturday. 

 

Car Parking

The builder has been allocated several car parks during the project.  The two visitors parks on Ground Floor should remain available to visitors.  We remind you that visitors also have the option to park in the paid parking station at 40 Tank Street.

 

Driveway

The builder will occasionally require exclusive use to the driveway parking bays, so please ensure the office staff are aware of any furniture delivery or removals several days in advance.

 

Lift Use

One lift has been allocated to builders during the project and will have protection installed.  Occupants can still use the lift allocated to builders.

 

Level 5 Pool & Gym

Level 5 Pool & Gym remains shut through to project completion.
