“Even the darkest night will end and the sun will rise." -Victor Hugo, Les Miserables

Hello Friends! I have lovingly nicknamed the beginning of my newsletters, "Bekah's random musings" because each month they vary from silly stories to current adventures. This month, may I write on something personal and vulnerable? Many may not know this, but, I deeply struggle with depression and anxiety, and have since I was young. It just means my heart, mind, and soul can often be at war with each other. Many of you can relate to this and, if you do, please remember two very important things. One—you are not alone and two—you are so very loved.  I am grateful to have fought every mental health battle and to have won every war because I may come out bruised and ever so broken, but I am still here, healing. And I have done so because I believe in seeking joy, being the light when you cannot find it, and having faith in your inner strength. I believe in kindness and serving others. I know those two acts alone can heal a broken heart. I believe smiling is a very powerful tool. A simple smile can change someone's day. And I believe in the power of love. There are many things you cannot control, but you can always choose to love.

This month, I will take a huge step back and slow down during one of my busiest seasons of the year. I am very excited to be still teaching a few cookie decorating classes this month, but otherwise, I'm excited to take time and be more present for my kids during this holiday. I truly appreciate your love and support for me and my bakery. I wouldn't be able to do any of this without you all, and my love for each and every one of you is immeasurable.

I wish you the best and the most beautiful holiday season. I hope it is filled with twinkle lights, surrounded by loved ones, and full of joy. Always find the joy.

XO

Rebekah

Cookie Curator Studio Update

This past month I asked Simply Seaside Organizing, LLC to help reorganize the shelves and cabinets in my cookie studio.  Friends, if you have come to my cookie classes, you have heard me express my desire to update those shelves for over a year. They needed all of the help they could get, and it was fantastic having Nicole and her associate over to redecorate and organize. Also, a BIG thank you to iDesign for collaborating on this project and providing all of the products for the redesign. I am beyond thrilled about this new space and can't wait for you all to see it in person!

Thanksgiving Community Service with Feel Good Salsa

Last week we were able to volunteer to prepare Thanksgiving meals for families in need. We spent the morning chopping onions, celery, and herbs in a kitchen full of volunteers, also prepping turkeys, gravy, stuffing—all of the things for a perfect Thanksgiving feast.

Dina, owner of Feel Good Salsa and one of the kindest, most giving souls you'll ever meet, hosted this event. With many volunteers and donations from the community, this event provided meals for 43 families and 215 individuals.

Thank you, Dina, for creating this fantastic event that helped so many people as well as allowing us to serve our community. You indeed are an inspiration to me.
