some thoughts for june

helping you be productive and well

Another turn of a calendar page and we find ourselves in June. Let's breathe a huge sigh of relief as this seismically unsettling semester comes to a close for our students. Let's be honest - that was hard on many levels for many reasons. The hardships and disappointments are beyond the scope of my words, but I am hopeful that we will pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off, and move through the disappointment and uncertainty and take our next best steps - whatever they may be. To the graduates of the uniquely weird 2020 school year I wish you the strength, determination, grit, and humility to move through your disappointment and unmet expectations to the possibilities and opportunities that await you on the other side. Congratulations, you did it!

This a must-watch for all 2020 graduates!

I wrote The Disintegrating Student: Super Smart & Falling Apart to provide an updated roadmap to navigate the daunting journey through today's high-stakes, high-stress achievement culture. My goal is to start conversations between students, parents, educators and other stakeholders to be more astute at recognizing the early signs of struggle and intervene before students fall apart.
