To answer some basic questions about our classes, we've put together a FAQ list, if you have a question you don't see answered below, reach out to us at dance@gaelicorigins.com Frequently Asked Questions Do I need to know how to dance? No! There is no experience required. In fact, Irish dance is a community dance form and the basic steps are really easy to learn. Our certified teacher will walk you through the basic movements and as long as you can count to 8, you'll do great! What ages is Irish Dance appropriate for? At GO!ID we offer programs for all ages! We focus on fun while building foundational dance habits, emphasizing team work, learning good habits, performance style, and building great dancers, Our goal is to help our dancers share dance passion with friends, build a creative performance outlet, and learn the technical elements of Irish Dance. Our Adult class focuses on group dancing called Ceili and traditional steps. All movements can be modified for any physical fitness level! What should I wear? The first month of class, wear comfortable athletic clothing and sneakers (smoother soles work better). Our class uniform is required for children's classes after the first month and is a GO!ID tshirt, available for order, black shorts/skort, and Irish Dance Ghillies/Soft Shoes (info about tshirt ordering and shoes is passed out with registration paperwork). Adults are encouraged to join in the school spirit fun and wear a GO!ID shirt, but not required! How do I sign up for classes? Class registration is done at https://www.gaelicorigins.com/plans-pricing. Children's classes are monthly but can be joined at any time. For adults, the classes are on a flexible punch card, 6 or 10 class packs (the 10 pack gets you a class rate reduction!) are available on our website. Do you offer private events? Yes! Our private events are great for friend groups, clubs, parties and more! They are inexpensive - $10/pp - and are a fun way to gather a group together to try something unique. Reach out to dance@gaelicorigins.com for inquiries.
