WP Council names interim police chief

Summary: Willow Park's Assistant Police Chief Daniel Franklin has been appointed interim police chief. Chief Franklin will be assuming this position as Police Chief Ellis retires. Learn about Chief Franklin's plans for the Willow Park Police Department, professional experience, and family.

Willow Park represented in the US House of Representatives

Summary: In February, Willow Park's First Bank Texas Board Chair Zan Prince testified at the US House Committee on Small Business, lead by Willow Park's US House Representative Roger Williams. ONCOR Electricity, Willow Park storm damage and prevention

Summary: During the straight-line wind storm in early March, ONCOR had 290K customers without electrical power, 743 of which were in Willow Park. Goodbye Willow Park Fire and Rescue

Summary: As of Friday, 24 March 2023, the iconic Willow Park Fire Department ladder truck will no longer belong to Willow Park; the Willow Park Fire and Rescue Department (WPFR) will be transferred to the Parker County Emergency Services District No. 1 (ESD1), and WPFR will be no more.

Willow Park election cancelled -- again.

Summary: For the second, consecutive two-year term, Mayor Doyle Moss and Council Place 1 Eric Conteras are the default winners of the Willow Park May 2023 election. In addition Council Place 2 Chawn Gilliland, appointed by the Mayor during the 08 March 2022 Council Meeting, is the default winner of his council seat.

      Further complicating issues are what fire officials agree are outdated fire service area boundaries that have areas better served by Willow Park currently in Aledo’s fire service area and thus the annexation area.“Basically their ESD board president said they will not redraw their lines,” Neverdousky said. “The whole answer is this is a big money grab.”
