"Turning Tears into Bubbles"

The Verdict

On October 7, 2021 a jury found Rachael’s killer “Not Guilty” of her murder. The shock and disbelief of all who knew the facts of the case was magnified by the disgust we felt for the 12 jurors who reinforced the gender bias that exists in these cases, and the underlying message that men can still do whatever they want to women and not face any form of consequence. Consequently, the result of the verdict has created false hope for victims in similar situations. It’s 2021, perpetrators and abusers are still not being held accountable for their actions. We may never understand, or recover, from that verdict. But we will never give up and will continue advocating that the voices of victims are heard.  Rachael Warrior Foundation was born from the tragic loss of a beautiful soul and this travesty of a verdict may have temporarily crushed our spirit, but it has also strengthened our resolve to do everything we can to stop Domestic Violence from destroying another life and help those who are trying to escape from an abusive relationship. The public support we have received tells us that we are not alone in our desire to help.

FUNDRAISERS

During this global pandemic we were still able to have two well supported fundraisers; The “Tailgate with Rachael '' Raffle and “Yoga at Green Lake '' in honor of Rachael’s Birthday. Those little successes, along with the funds from our previous fundraisers, allowed us to help a few more victims escape Domestic Violence situations by increasing their protective factors to live a life free of violence. We understand that financial abuse is a common reason victims stay or return back to the relationship.

As a result, we have collaborated with Family Justice Center and Haven House providing financial support to victims in crisis situations. We have purchased beds to Haven house which broken families take with them as they move forward to try and build new lives after escaping Domestic Violence. We can assist in making adequate financial preparations with each victim to end the cycle of dependence.

"Turning Tears into Bubbles"

From the beginning we wanted to condense everything we do into a simple mission - "Turning Tears into Bubbles!"  Rachael knew that there was something magical about bubbles, just watch how kids, and adults, react to those simple, lighter than air, creations.  It became our task to take the tears of Domestic Violence Victims and turn then into bubbles, help them rise out of their tragedy and experience some well-needed joy.  We exist to bring these bubbles into people's lives. Here are a  bubbles we've been able to create with your generosity and dedication:

  • "Rachael's Warrior's" helped drive the Family Justice Centers 2019 Mosaic fundraiser to its most successful event in its history;
  • Using proceeds from the "Let Love Soar" gala, Rachael Warrior Foundation was able to donate $10,000 to Haven house to help them support Domestic Violence victims at their facilities.
  • We also provide beds to Haven House, beds that families can take with them as they rebuild their lives.  Haven House has dubbed this program, "Rebuilding with Rachael."
  • We have provided shelter in the form of hotel stays, utilities, service items, and donations to several organizations that support victims while they got themselves back on their feet after leaving an abuser that who had control of all their funds.
  • We found furniture and household items for victims who were starting anew, and delivered those items to their new locations, as well as helped with the set up.
  • We provided groceries to victims and their families during the holidays to ensure they could celebrate the holidays.
  • Teaming up with Roswell Parks Toy Drive, we distributed toys to children effected by Domestic Violence to try and help bring a little extra joy to their Christmas.

Upcoming Events

Come and join us for our first Mardi Gras Bash, Domestic Violence Blows! on February 26, 2022  at Ashbury Hall, Babeville.  Music will be provided by "Brass Machine."  This will be our second major fundraiser in Buffalo and, most importantly, it is our statement that; as long as Domestic Violence is at epidemic proportions, we will not backdown; we will help however and wherever we can.  We are thankful for your support and hope that you will continue with us on our quest to save as many people  as we can from the ravages that Domestic Violence wreaks on its victims.
