At the Kalevipoja Laud level of giving, an Ontario couple who wish to remain anonymous, has made a generous donation to honour their parents who escaped Estonia during WW2, and helped build the community that we enjoy today. With the heart of any home being the kitchen, they are dedicating the commercial kitchen, anonymously, to their parents. Read more here, eesti keeles siin. |

Estonian textile artists look to create art installation in KESKUS |
|
|
Kärt Ojavee and Johanna Ulfsak, two renowned textile artists whose works are already in the Estonian Museum of Applied Arts and Design, are spending a month in Ontario advancing their textile art practice. They will present an artists' talk on April 9 in Burlington and April 11 in Toronto. Kärt and Johanna's artists residency takes place as a joint initiative of Estonian Arts Centre and the Cotton Factory, a creative arts centre in Hamilton, as part of Hamilton Arts Council's European Artist Exchange 2022. KESKUS resonates with Florida Estonians |

An introduction of KESKUS was part of the Estonian independence day celebrations in Palm Beach, Florida, in early March. Only a 3-hour flight and the same time zone means that cultural events can easily be shared between KESKUS in Toronto and the South Florida Estonian Society in Florida. Donor categories are Kalevipoja Laud for gifts of $100,000 and above (including naming rights for specific areas), Viru Vanemad for gifts of $10,000 and above, and Kungla Rahvas for gifts under $10,000. To make a donation, please email donations@estoniancentre.ca or call +1.647.250.7136. Donations may be made as a family gift, or in honour of an individual or family. Leadership gifts can be paid over time and all donations are issued a tax receipt, with country-specific receipts issued for Canada, U.S. and Estonia. |
