JANUARY NEWSLETTER

Check out what we've been up to this month

January is National Mentoring Month!

There are 46 million young people, aged 8-18, living in America. 16 million of them are growing up without a mentor. Mentoring provides a voice of reason and care that is needed most by this demographic being that they are faced with so many choices daily, especially with coming into their own identity.

By fostering effective training and resources to our mentors, we have equipped them to passionately help those in need.  Being a mentor is genuine in their service, confident within themselves, willing to share past mistakes and commit to the mentoring relationship. That is what National Mentoring Month is all about and Confident Girl Mentoring Program, Inc is happy to champion the cause.

What better way to help our future than to be a mentor?

2020 Goals

Being Intentional by Tiffany R. Lewis, Founder/CEO

2019 was a great year; with the launch of new programs and services for families. Our Self-Esteem project which is the highlight of Confident Girl Mentoring Program facilitated services to 544 girls in both Erie and Niagara Counties.  In addition, we reached 459 girls through our Teen Pregnancy Prevention program and National Youth Confidence Day celebration held every October 20th garnered online participation nationwide.

Our goal for 2020 is to build our capacity by collaborating with other organizations and partnering with individuals who have a passionate desire to help service those in need. Partnering with others doing substantial work already in our community will provide unlimited opportunities for youth and families.  It is our desire to be intentional as we expand our horizons to be the model for mentoring programs for girls on a national level.

Thank you for your continued support and ask that you join us in becoming a partner.

CGMP Launches Jump 4 Confidence - Jump Rope Empowerment Program

CGMP was awarded a grant from the Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Legacy Funds administered by the Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo to promote youth empowerment through sports mentoring. Jump 4 Confidence is an elite jump rope fitness and wellness program that provides a holistic approach to sports by improving self-esteem and confidence.  As a certified jump rope instructor, CGMP's founder Tiffany Lewis also trained 5 additional women who are now certified coaches for “Jump 4 Confidence”. The program improves family engagement and has impacted 85 youth on average.

“I have never seen such a program as unique and fun as this and my proudest moment was seeing my 6 year old granddaughter geeing with joy when she was finally able to do a complete jump several times in a row and yelled “look grandma, I can do it, I can do it” talk about holding back tears! That was my first-hand experience in feeling the effectiveness of this program and I knew I was in the right place” says Ms. Meadors who is one of our newly trained coaches.
