Summer Newsletter 2022

How comforting it is to know, especially in the middle of a crisis, that you are where God needs you to be and that He has carefully planned your steps long before you arrived where you are now!

This year has been unusual in so many ways! Summer is quickly coming to an end; although the temperatures outside are still scorching, it is hot not only for people but especially for the plants and animals!

The damage done by the drought to this year's harvest in Eastern Europe is compounded by the near double prices on food, gas, and just about any other supplies!

Threats of water rationing and the certainty of an oncoming energy supply shortage are sobering, yet, I am noticing a certain resilience in the Romanian people. It is such a blessing to see them as they give, not keeping even the little they have for themselves. Instead, they share what they have with the Ukrainian refugees who continue to pour across our borders!

The Ukrainian Crisis

The Ukrainian crisis added a new dimension to our ministry as recent donations and supplies opened the door for us to take many loads across the border, as far as Odesa.

Recently, we are also partnering with the new refugee center instituted by the Pentecostal churches in the Constanta region.

Nearly 700 families come to the center weekly for food, clothing, medical needs, and other necessities, and the Word of God is being presented at each meeting! Please continue to support us prayerfully and financially to meet these needs!

With the funds we receive, we make purchases to cover the needs of those still in the country and those already in our area. Several pastors we work with carefully divide the supplies to the areas in greatest need. They continually testify how the people are pouring into churches for prayer and support and are gladly receiving the message of salvation!

Because of the pandemic, we were unable to have mission teams come to assist us. It has been difficult to continue our work in our communities without their much-needed help! Nevertheless, our ministry continued and we were able to hold all our usual outreach events, even though the strain on our small team did not go unnoticed. However, the joy of touching lives for Jesus always refreshes us and gives us the strength to move forward!

Finally, next week, we will welcome a team from Brightmoor Church, MI, followed by our own district team from Irwin, Pa, led by Sharon Poole! We look forward to completing the work on the Ostrov new sanctuary and supplying our communities' spiritual and physical needs!

Please consider sending a team to work with us next year!

Prayer Needs

  • Please pray for our safety, as we face constant threats due to our proximity to the regions facing war.

  • Pray for the Christian Refugees Center in Constanta, which offers daily services translated into Ukrainian before providing them with the necessary supplies.

  • Pray for the refugees to turn to the Lord for help and rely on Him alone.

  • Pray for us as we sometimes feel overwhelmed by the sorrow, the needs, and the helplessness that the people we minister to are confronted with!

  • Pray for our ministry team that is working hard to minister to all these needs while building a church auditorium.

Thank you, dear friends, for always carrying our needs to the throne and seeing that all our needs are met so that we may remain faithful to the Lord!
