October:

a new lens

It's OK. Zoom in. Zoom out. It's time to adjust your perspective, boo.

My favorite season is summer, but a close second is autumn - because it reminds me of the FALL OF THE PATRIARCHY. Grand Ole leaves losing their fixed, hierarchal positions, once hovering above, now careening down to solid ground like the frail fronds they are. Back to earth, back to reality, back where they belong: with the rest of us. Fall signals a #timesup and we are free to consider a new season of being, a new perspective of seeing ourselves, our life's work, and redefining what we find beautiful.

I read something gorge the other day:

There is a reason Jesus wrote in the sand instead of stone, it was to remind us that everything changes with the tides - and we are free too, as well.

With the various tensions experienced, personally and collectively, I can see we are in transition. In the birth process we call this "the ring of fire", signaling the final press and push - the time to take a deep cleansing breath - before divine beauty and blessing arrive. Our greatest challenge right now is to remain optimistic, to increase our flexibility and to cling to hope, trusting we have all we need to develop and adapt. Fear is a thief. We must not give it any room to take root, or spread.

This edition of The Hive newsletter zine is ripe with fresh and relevant voices of local femmes exhaling messages on ways to adjust our lens, offering space to zoom in, and out, of perspectives to help us better relate, and respond, to the people and issues that surround us. As you take in each woman's wisdom - consider your own contribution. What do you think? How do you think? We want to hear from you. Your presence is filled with purpose, perhaps it's time you hold the mic and express a much needed perspective?

Feel free to reach out to each contributor, let them know what you think about their words. Support and celebrate their vulnerability. And, as always, there are updates about our buildout and available memberships - we are getting real close and I've never been more ready. Okurrrr?
