Join Redbud Resource Group’s education team at Graton Resort & Casino this August for the launch of the National Museum of the American Indian’s new digital lesson, “The Impact of the Gold Rush on Native Americans of California: A Source Investigation - https://americanindian.si.edu/nk360/gold-rush/

Can’t make it to the in-person launch event? Check out the Smithsonian’s virtual webinars! On July 23, dive deep into the complex history behind the California gold rush with Dr. Khal Schneider (Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria). On July 24, Taylor Pennewell (Berry Creek Rancheria of Tyme Maidu Indians), executive director of the Redbud Resource Group will guide you through the lesson and offer approaches on how to adapt it for your own classroom.

Redbud's Amplifying Native Voices in the Classroom:

Native Perspectives & Everyday Lessons

Event Details

 In this engaging session for elementary and middle school teachers, discover effective ways to integrate Native perspectives into your lessons at the beginning of the school year. Teachers will cultivate a more profound comprehension of Indigenous perspectives, broadening their knowledge base and fostering a deeper appreciation and awareness of the wealth of Native funds of knowledge.

Redbud's Native Education Workshops

Event Details

Where: Rohnert Park, CA

A diverse cohort of Native Educators, ranging from aspiring Teachers to Outdoor Educators and tribal youth Coordinators, will gather to learn and practice creating educational materials from Native lens. Our workshops are crafted for hands-on, practice skill-building experiences.

 

Participants will receive a small stipend for their time and contributions to the program! Registration is free, but seats are limited!
