From my back yard

Linda Sprau - Art Newsletter                                                                                               September 2021

Hello -- Finally!

It's been a while. You may have noticed, there was no “newsletter” in August. I just wasn’t getting any painting done, so I let that one pass me by. Summer heat has subsided somewhat, now, and I’m happy to  be back in the studio and painting some fun things.

As mentioned in July, I’m concentrating on learning oil painting. Here's my first piece, titled “Yard Art.” It’s 8 x 10 on a canvas board. This was painted from life (en Plein Air,) in my back yard.

Here’s another fun image: My cousin’s cow, and a little artistic license by adding a crow on her back. This piece is titled “Hitching a Ride.” It’s an 11 x 14 acrylic on wrapped canvas.

I’ve been working an several Halloween-themed paintings to hang in a local shop called “The Real Deal.” You can see them on my website, and I'll share a few more of them in next months' installment.

Until then.
