In brief - E€OFISH promotes effective collaboration between LVFO and LTA. It hosted a meeting on June 4, 2021 to initiate preliminary discussions between the two bodies’ high-level management and technical officers to explore the prospects and challenges for enhancing sustainable and integrated management of inland water fisheries.
- E€OFISH urges the region to reinforce its commitment toward ocean protection. With the collaboration of E€OFISH Programme, the European Union and the Indian Ocean Commission reflected on oceans-related issues on the World Oceans Day - June 8, 2021, and resolved to redouble efforts towards the efficient management of this ecosystem. - On June 25, 2021, E€OFISH team had an initial meeting with Mr. Géza Strammer, the new Head of Cooperation of the European Union Delegation for the Republic of Mauritius and the Republic of Seychelles. The European Union reiterated its support in the implementation of E€OFISH, which is cited as one of the European flagship projects at the Ocean Conference in 2018.

In brief - The first webinar for implementing the Blue Economy Satellite account in the region was held on June 15, 2021. Over 50 stakeholders from different target countries participated and begun the interactions about creating this system. Download the webinar's presentations
- E€OFISH has launched a study to take stock of Recreational and Ornamental Fisheries in the region. Every year, the first sector represents around 8 billion dollars globally and the second 15 to 30 billion dollars. Download: Recreational fisheries - Ornamental fisheries ToRs
- E€OFISH has initiated a series of bilateral discussions with its national focal points to define the potential areas of collaboration between the programme and each country. The team is aware that, although E€OFISH is an interregional programme, it must take into account the activities at national level to be able to bring about positive change.
