Hi! I'm Danielle, a marketer, writer, and comedian who went from open mics to opening a box of colored pencils during the pandemic. Welcome to my second doodle roundup newsletter in what I hope will be a regular series. Please let me know what you think! |

After the election cleared up this week, we were reminded that COVID-19 is still at large as cases steadily rise. With that bad news came good news for some of us — Netflix hit "Emily in Paris" was renewed for a second season! And, since I had to quarantine this week, I'm including a doodle from this summer about my quarantine habits that I thought I'd be done with by now, but sadly am not. I'm patting myself on the back for getting this newsletter again on a regular schedule, but I think all the time at home helped. (Missed last week's newsletter, "The most dramatic week ever"? See it here!) |

Get ready to spend more time at home |

We've all gotten a taste of the outside world — going to restaurants, maybe even the gym or a distanced outdoor concert. With cases unfortunately going up, I'm mentally getting ready for a long winter inside. Luckily, I've had months to prepare and I now have some great tips to bring regular outside experience into your home. This was inspired by me sleeping in my sister's (who is also my roommate) bed for a few days while she was away. Why? Because, in this age, it felt like the closest I'd get to a vacation ... from my room. I'm not going to admit to any of the others. |

Round deux of "Emily in Paris" When I was 19, I spent a month Paris to fill in as my four-year-old cousin's nanny. I took in the sights, chased him and his friends around with my limited French, and dutifully brought him his gouter (snack) every day at school pick-up. I learned the hard way that a healthy snack is not an appropriate gouter and that he didn't love a very hot bath. I loved watching Netflix's hit show (critics be damned) about a naive, selfie-loving American who goes to France to work at a luxury ad agency. She also had trouble at the patisserie and with the bath. But, our experiences were a little bit different. One thing we definitely both have in common — we fell in love with Paris. I decided to compare our stays the way I know how, with a doodle! |

My quarantine habits that would never work in "real life" — which is fine for now These are my quarantine habits that won’t work if ever we go back to “real life”... I take very long breaks during workouts, my stuffed bunny, Waffles, has never been treated better, I forgot how to socialize, and I forgot how to do a "Jewish goodbye." It seems like I don't need to shed these habits anytime soon, unfortunately. In fact, I've leaned in harder. I made cheesy potatoes for breakfast this week, checked the mail more than I want to admit, and used my new French press. When you can't go to Paris, draw it and drink it ... I guess. |
