Join us in welcoming Susan Crutchfield to the Unwound family. Heather has posted an interview with Susan over on the blog. Here's an excerpt: 

Heather: The ubiquitous question: when did you learn to knit, and who taught you?

Susan: I was so young when I learned to knit that I have no memories of learning how, but I'm sure it must have been my mother who taught me. I was always bothering her with "Mama, I want to make something." I remember making a wee blanket in stockinette for a babydoll, and crocheted bookmarks. My maternal grandmother was an expert crocheter. We have several afghans of hers, and I am thrilled to have a beautiful crocheted bedspread by her, made with crochet thread, not yarn. My mother now concentrates on sewing, but growing up (and still) I was surrounded by needlecrafters on my mother's side of the family. She had three sisters who created the most wonderful Christmas presents.

Saturday, March 21, 2-4 PM

$40: includes the lesson in duplicate stitch, mitts pattern, two metal stitch markers to attach charms to your mitts, and five 10-gram mini skeins of Unwound’s Own hand-dyed in colors to create the creature of your choice. Open Spin

Bring your wheel, spindle, or curiosity and join local spinners for some crafting time at Unwound. All crafters are welcome, but we especially encourage spinners to come in and use our lounge during this time to get some spinning done! Not a spinner? Not a problem! Come in and watch some spinners work their magic.
