Just the Facts

With less than 2 weeks until Election Day, make sure you know the facts!

Dennis Ritter, incumbent KASD School Director running for re-election in Maxatawny/Lyons, insists he is for parental rights. But we encourage you to hear his words for yourself and decide if that is true or if he is trying to fool voters.

In this video excerpt from 1/18/2022 School Board Meeting, Dennis Ritter explains his vote to KEEP the book Gender Queer in our MS and HS libraries.

He admits it contains sexual images that are "problematic," but because those images occur within an autobiography, that somehow makes it ok. He states that the book has artistic value for students who think they may be non-binary.

On 5/16/22, he offered his version of 'parental consent' which would have required parents to read every book in the library to develop a list of books their child isn't allowed to read. The librarians would then have to consult the lists every time a child checked a book out. This approach was obviously not feasible, nor did it prevent a child from reviewing the book while on the shelf in the library.

When his motion failed, Ritter proceeded to vote against parental consent to read the book, believing students should be able to read it without their parents or guardians knowing about it. Thankfully, the motion for traditional parental consent, as initiated by KASD Children First PAC Current School Board Members, passed. While the book remains in the library, students may check it out upon having their parent complete the permission slip.

In our documentary, we pointed out the problem of combining pornographic with non-pornographic content. The adult entertainment industry shouldn't get into our libraries by working their craft into a Shakespeare play.

We also exposed the burdensome process Ritter proposed to place on parents in an effort to keep this type of material in the library around impressionable teenagers, who won't look at the material differently simply because it is a memoir. We already pay for librarians to purchase high-quality educational material for the library.

On Nov. 7th, 2023, your vote will help us get back to using your hard-earned tax dollars to purchase materials for our library of the highest educational value!

VOTE NOV. 7th to PROTECT OUR CHILDREN!

Who are REALLY the 'Extremists'?

Our Democrat opponents for school director in KASD obtained advertising and support from an organization in Cleveland, OH called Red Wine and Blue (RWB).

RWB advocates for transgender and non-binary children "to use bathrooms or play sports that align with their gender identity and expression."

Anyone who disagrees with them is considered an "extremist."

KASD Children First PAC Candidates believe the use of locker rooms and bathrooms, as well as participation in sports teams, in our School District should have no reference to “gender identity.” Biological males should not use the girls’ locker room or bathroom, or join girls’ sports teams, and vice versa.

Ironically, KOFEE recently sent a mailer to voters in Maxatawny/Lyons criticizing us for accepting donations in 2021 from an organization headquartered in Bucks County, PA. KOFEE really does throw stones inside a glass house!

Don't fall for the name-calling or miss the hypocrisy!

Vote on Nov. 7th 2023!

Introducing the Anti-Woke Tax

In a public statement, our opponents threw down the gauntlet.

Kutztown Organized for Educational Excellence (KOFEE) is the PAC behind our Democrat opponents. Recently, they twisted our public financial disclosure and attacked us with this post.

KOFEE claims we shouldn't have borrowed any money before the Primary to help our candidates win, because, in KOFEE's humble opinion, "People don't donate to unpopular ideas."

To clarify, KASD Children First PAC borrowed $4,000 because the Primary is fast-paced, where voters (and potential donors) have roughly 10 weeks to obtain information on the candidates.

Is KOFEE right that our ideas are unpopular, where the KASD is a majority Republican school district and where our candidates won the Republican Primary?

For our donors, THANK YOU!

For everyone else, now's your chance to prove KOFEE wrong.

Consider this as an Anti-Woke Tax - what the community must pay to keep KOFEE at bay. Even small amounts, like $50 or $30, go a long way when everyone pitches in.
