All we truly have is the present. Let’s talk about living in the moment.
If you are feeling stuck in the past, just remember that the past is over and it only exists in your thoughts about it today, in this moment. If you are feeling hurt about something that has happened in the past, just know you are experiencing present pain and not pain from your past. This might be hard to wrap your head around, but you can recognize that your current thoughts are the only thing that affect you. Utilize the lessons of your past to fuel you to learn and grow in your present moment.
Are you feeling anxiousness, fear, or worry about what is going to happen in the future? Become aware that your mind is having predetermined feelings towards something that hasn’t even happened yet. All we have is the present moment. If you are anxious, you are experiencing emotions before the life circumstance. I encourage you to recognize that your mind is thinking thoughts into the future, causing present feelings and you can ground yourself to be in the present moment. If you can manage your mind to accept that there isn’t any emotion that you aren’t willing to experience, you can go experience life without that fear of feeling.
Reflecting on your past shows you how far you have come. Looking into the future allows for your mind to have hope and wonder. Being able to truly live in the moment is a beautiful gift you can give yourself. Living in the moment allows for acceptance. Accept yourself for who you are in this moment. Be mindful of how amazing it is to be alive in this moment. Enjoy each moment with gratitude. Live for each and every moment, because it truly is all we have.
