If January is for dreamers, February is for doers - Marc Pleasant
I don't know why January should be for dreamers (maybe it's all that goal-setting), but February is a short month in which to try to get anything done! I always find February is over before it started. That being said, a short month is an incentive to get going and one of the things I've been doing this month is refining my business. I'm doing all of the same things but I'm evolving how I talk about myself, to reflect who I want to work with and how I want to work - and it's resonating with clients.
For me, 2023 is the year of the Fractional CMO - I've decided it's what I do and how I'd like to approach my work. Check out my new webpage, where I explain how I'm operating and what I'm trying to do. In itself, the webpage is a work in progress and will certainly evolve!
Fractional Chief Marketing Officer
Focusing my offer
Over the past few months, I've been hearing the term "Fractional CMO" more and more and I really like it. It's what I do for long-term clients anyway, but I like the term because it indicates a level of strategy and seniority that "Marketing consultant" just doesn't. I want to be my clients' partner on important, strategic marketing decisions, and I want to help put the right team in place for my clients, not do everything for them myself. Visit my new page to find out what I mean by Fractional CMO.
This February, we wanted to use our Alkimie platform to highlight how brands should focus on impact over income when engaging with moments that draw national attention. It is an opportunity to consider whether your brand is having a tangible social impact, or just paying lip service to causes you say you believe in.
I'm a museum geek. I love going to museums. I love diving into these forgotten worlds and glimpsing the real people who inhabited them. I spotted this woven bowl in the Museum of Indian Arts & Culture in Santa Fe. I think I took a photo of it because it was from the year 1,000 and survived because it was hidden at the back of a dry cave for a millennium.
